Throughout his coaching career, Steve Cleveland has been essential in the rebuilding of multiple basketball programs, both at the high school and collegiate level: Clovis West High School (1980–1090); Fresno City College (1990–1997); Brigham Young University (1997–2005); and Fresno State University (2005–2011). In each case, he led his teams to greater success on and off the court. After stepping down from coaching on March 17, 2011, Steve became a collegiate basketball analyst for ESPN and BYUTV until he and Kip were called to serve as mission leaders in Indianapolis, Indiana for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in July 2013. They returned to Utah in 2016, and Steve became a color analyst for BYUtv, as well as a basketball analyst for 1280 “The Zone,” specifically the morning show with David James and Patrick Kinahan. Steve continues to speak to youth groups, business organizations, and collegiate teams regarding culture building, principles of leadership, “touching all the lines,” and becoming “difference makers.”
