Stephen E. Seale is a veteran of the Iraq War, and also spent time in Afghanistan, where he was embedded with the US Marines in Helmand Province. He has degrees in history, and his other interests include linguistics, as well as writing science fiction, fantasy, post-apocalyptic, and other speculative fiction in both novel and comic book form. He has also written non-fiction historical books, has been accepted as a member of the Royal Historical Society, and has produced his own edition of the classic Mark Twain novel, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, with additional reference notes explaining elements of the text from a historical sociological perspective. He especially enjoys learning languages, and creating languages of his own for his fantasy world. He is married to Syrena Seale, a gifted artist with whom he collaborates on various projects.
