Stephen Poff is a musician, photographer, filmmaker, and now, somewhat unexpectedly, a novelist.

A lifelong storyteller, Stephen has spent much of his creative life telling stories through songs, photographs, and moving images. As a musician, his work includes One Like Son and Twelve Stones, and his creative pursuits have taken him from recording studios and concert stages to behind the camera.

His debut novel, *Signs of the Whispered War*, began not as a book, but as a concept album. Set against the backdrop of the Cold War, the story follows an American intelligence analyst and a young Russian woman whose lives become intertwined through mysterious radio transmissions. What began as an attempt to fill in the spaces between songs gradually grew into a novel of its own.

The accompanying album and novel tell two sides of the same story, reflecting Stephen's fascination with the ways music, imagery, and words can work together to create something larger than any one medium.
