Hello Readers, my short stories offer a perspective shaped by two contrasting paradigms. I grew up a small town girl, on welfare, constantly moving, five different elementary schools - all within the same city. My mother, young and full of life, was ‘sort of’ single. We joked that while Mama was never married, Daddy certainly was. (This very real, very personal chapter formed the heart of my first memoir, Life Is A Funny Thing…). Fast forward to adulthood, and my life took a dramatically different turn. I married my high school sweetheart, built a career, and settled into an affluent suburb. I became the quintessential "soccer mom," driving a Mercedes or BMW, tipping housekeepers and gardeners—but always with one foot planted firmly in another world I knew all too well. Now retired and well-traveled, I carry with me a lifetime of stories—some joyful, some painful. I share them with one purpose: to inspire what I like to call the politics of laughter—a necessary reminder that humor can bridge the deepest divides. Like many, I’ve read the legends, Hemingway, Lee, Poe, Steinbeck, Twain, Wells. I respect their work, although their worlds rarely reflected mine. Their characters didn’t look or live like people I knew. And so, I came to believe there’s room in literature for voices like mine—for stories shaped by grit, grace, with laughter on the margins. I am super proud of my first Coffee Table Book which features SIX short stories, plus TWO column reads. This is a beautiful and timeless novel of Love, Romance, and Friendship, albeit with a twist. It captures tenderness and dynamics of mature aged people who already have life experience. Make sure to have another person read this so you can share and debate your perspectives. A personal note - this is my favorite writing (so far). Truly, I believe this story would make a beautiful screenplay. IF I HAD A DAUGHTER - As developing young ladies, we think we know a lot. Often there is more to learn - so I share some jewels that aren't usually spoken, yet, we all want our daughters to know. A PERSONAL JOURNAL; 26 DAYS TRAVELING THE CAMINO DE SANTIAGO - My pilgrimage journal while on the Camino De Santiago was originally intended to share only with a few close friends, who later, insisted I publish it. This was my epic post retirement adventure hiking through Spain.
