A cherished member of the Salem Communications family, Starlene’s contributions have helped the station earn numerous prestigious accolades, including eight Marconi Awards and several Dove Awards. Beyond her work on air, she has showcased a diverse skill set as a Talk Show Host, News Director, Public Affairs Director, Voice Over Artist, Social Media Expert, Podcaster, Producer, Editor, and Writer. A National Best-Selling Author and Inspirational Speaker, Starlene has touched the lives of countless individuals with her story and wisdom. For more than a decade, she volunteered as a reader for the blind and visually impaired at North Texas Taping and Radio for the Blind. She’s worked as a volunteer at Children’s Medical Center Dallas and traveled internationally on humanitarian missions to Jamaica with Food For the Poor and Ethiopia with The Bible League, where she helped oversee the construction of homes and water wells for underserved communities. A Survivor in every sense, Starlene has triumphed over personal adversity, including surviving a helicopter crash while serving as a traffic anchor for CBS-11 and KLTY-FM. Her resilience and unwavering faith continue to inspire those who hear her story. Above all, Starlene cherishes her roles as a Wife, Mom, and Community Volunteer.
