I was born in Miami, FL., and grew up in Statesville, NC. In college (UNC-Chapel Hill), I studied Radio/TV and advertising. In 1980, I left radio to start a marketing communications agency now known as CarneyCo. I also created ReVision™, a process for creative problem-solving and strategic innovation. My first book was published in 2018. I read Thom Rainer's book "Autopsy of a Deceased Church" and learned the characteristics and actions that dying churches had in common. "The Greatest Church in the World" was written to demonstrate the positive attributes and actions of 'great' churches. "The Greatest Disciple in the World" was published in 2024 with the goal of helping all people, believers and non-believers, find their spiritual connection.
