Shelly has a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts. She lives with her husband Phil (author of He's Greater Than You Know) in the greater Pittsburgh Area where she works with disabled adults and is active in her local church. She has a son on Cape Cod and another in Portland, Maine. Shelly and Phil will head to Cape Cod and Portland in a few weeks where they will spend time with friends and family. During the last Cape Cod trip Shelly took about a thousand photographs, which she enjoys processing into works of art. She is currently working on an illustrated fable with characters she started creating during her early childhood.
