Toward the end of her forty-year career as a creator of science museums, Sheila Grinell turned to fiction. Her debut novel, Appetite, appeared in 2016 and her second novel, The Contract, in 2019. Grinell writes a monthly newsletter and social media updates to engage her readers, and gives talks at bookstores and libraries about writing as a “second act.” Born in a taxi in Manhattan, she is a graduate of Harvard University and the University of California at Berkeley.
