Shawn Van Dyke, author of Profit First for Contractors, is a construction industry business coach, consultant, keynote speaker, and executive trainer. He is on a mission to change the way the world views the trades by teaching construction business owners how to become more profitable, create a legacy business, and break out of "The Craftsman Cycle." Shawn travels the country speaking at industry events, training construction business owners, and provides coaching programs to better the construction industry. He is a Fine Homebuilding Brand Ambassador, contributor to JLC, and has been rated as an "Outstanding Presenter" at JLC Live and NAHB IBS events. His first book, The Paperwork Punch List, has been downloaded over 3000 times, and he earned the Profit First Professionals' "Marketer of the Year" award for 2018. In his former life, Shawn was an executive at a trim and millwork company, owned a general contracting business, started a construction management and real estate development firm, and earned a BS in Civil Engineering and a MS in Structural Engineering. He enjoys living life with his wife and 5 kids in Knoxville, TN, and likes to fly fish...when he's not traveling, writing, or wrangling kids.
