I first started writing historical fiction as a way to understand the events, technologies and motivations of other eras, and how they helped lay the foundation for our modern world. During any historical fiction journey, we find issues that can be universal, timeless, and sometimes troubling. We also discover lost worlds that are familiar, yet oddly exotic compared to our own. That helps me enjoy exploring how historical influences can have a huge impact on the trajectory of people’s lives today. My most recent book is "Local Honey," Set on New England's Merrimack River in 1951. Local Honey is a story of America’s haves vs have-nots. It’s part love triangle, part class struggle, and part dreamy window into the lost New England of the 1950s. The backdrop includes seashore towns, rural farms, the gritty slums of Boston, and brief flashbacks of battlefields. In a community that should be basking in the “winner’s aftermath” of a terrible war, all should be good for everyone. But it isn’t. I also have a historical mystery series is called "The Puzzle Box Chronicles." It's fast-moving and action-packed right to its core. Set in 1891, it includes a bit of romance, a bit of mystery and a lot of intrigue, at a time when the United States was undergoing tremendous technological change. The volumes include: Book I: The Wreck of the gossamer Book II: The Lost, the Found and the Hidden Book III: Those Who Wander Book IV: Wires and Wings Book V: North of Angel Falls Book VI: The Beckoning Spark My short story collection is called "The Sea Glass Empire," which one reviewer called intriguing, memorable, and irresistible -------------- About me: - Masters degree from The George Washington University - Bachelors degree from St. Bonaventure University - Taught graduate-level classes in educational technologies and project management - Formerly an author of business books, including one for John Wiley & Sons - Author of hundreds of technical articles and market research papers. - Quoted by trade publications, and major Newspapers, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post and Politico.
