R. Scott Dotson has spent more than 40 years studying what makes people exceptional — in sport,
in business, and in character. His fascination with what makes people the best in their field is coupled
with curiosity with the connective tissue between spirituality, practicality, culture, philosophy, psychology and success.

Scott holds a B.A. in Accounting with a minor in Finance from Illinois Wesleyan University. His career with State Farm
Insurance encompassed four levels of accounting management in four different locations until he became an agent in Milan, MI.

Scott retired at the age of 59 after 40 years with State Farm.

Scott has written one book: Par for the Soul – Finding Meaning and Powerful Life Lessons Through the Game of Golf (2026).
