Sarah M. Wells is the award-winning author of six books: Ordinary Time: Meditations from the In-Between (essays), American Honey: A Field Guide to Resisting Temptation (memoir), The Family Bible Devotional: Stories from the Bible to Help Kids and Parents Engage and Love Scripture, The Family Bible Devotional Volume 2: Stories from the Gospels to Help Kids and Parents Love God and Love Others, and two collections of poems: Between the Heron and the Moss and Pruning Burning Bushes. She is also the author of a novella-length essay, The Valley of Achor, and a chapbook of poems, Acquiesce, winner of the 2008 Starting Gate Award. Poems and essays by Wells have appeared in many journals, most recently Ascent, Brevity, Full Grown People, Hippocampus Review, The Pinch, River Teeth, and Under the Gum Tree. Sarah’s work has been honored with four Pushcart Prize nominations. Her essays have been listed as Notable Essays in The Best American Essays 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2018. She is a 2018 recipient of an Ohio Individual Excellence Award from the Ohio Arts Council. Sarah is a contributing writer for Root & Vine News and God Hears Her (a blog of Our Daily Bread). She lives in Ashland, Ohio with her husband and three children.
