I started my working life as a doctor and then left the NHS to support adults with learning difficulties. I founded Full Circle because she wanted to bring health and social care principles to funeral care and believe that with the right information and time, people can create funerals which and helpful and therapeutic. I wrote my first book “Funerals Your Way – a Person-Centred Approach to Planning a Funeral” in September 2018 because I wanted to give people the information they need to help them to feel in control at a time that can be very challenging and bewildering. I wanted to extend the support that she provides people as a funeral director by making this self help guide as widely available as possible. The second edition of "Funerals Your Way" became available in October 2021 and includes new chapters about green funerals, funerals in a digital age and information to support wellbeing after bereavement. All proceeds from the book are being donated charity and in 2021, my charity partner is The Swan Song Project - a Yorkshire based social enterprise that support people to write songs after bereavement.
