I am a resident of Rockford, Illinois. I share my life there with my husband and pets. I am originally from the Southwest side of Chicago -The Back of the Yards, specifically. It was my upbringing in this neighborhood, which over decades became the area surrounding the Chicago Stock Yards, that influenced my short story writing. My first book is a collection of short stories that take place in that neighborhood, in different decades. After living in Arizona for twenty years, we moved back to the Midwest and to Rockford. It was shortly after moving here that I joined In Print, the professional writers group in Rockford. I eventually became it's President. The impact of this group had a great influence on my writing career, which I will be forever grateful for. I am now working on a detective series as well and several other short stories and novellas. I need more hours in the day. Following a dream can be hard work, but extremely gratifying. So I say to those who think they don't have the time or feel that there are too many obstacles - Go for it. Just do it and knock down the barriers and pursue that dream! It can be done.
