Sam Lawrence is the pen name of Chrissy Hobbs, a Canadian author, publisher, and passionate advocate for children's literacy and sport. Based in Ontario, Canada, Chrissy has spent nearly a decade writing and publishing books that inspire curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.

Writing as Sam Lawrence, she is the author of the Navigating Natural Disasters series, which helps young readers understand the science and impact of extreme weather and natural events in an engaging, age-appropriate way. She is also the creator of the Softball Strikeout series and the acclaimed hockey history book When Girls Took the Ice, which celebrates the trailblazing women who helped shape the game of hockey.

Chrissy is the owner of Indie Publishing Group Inc., where she helps authors bring their books to life through professional self-publishing services. Through both her own books and her work with aspiring authors, she is dedicated to creating stories that educate, inspire, and empower young readers.

When she's not writing or publishing, Chrissy enjoys spending time with her family, exploring Canadian history, and supporting the growth of girls' sports.

If you enjoyed one of Sam's books, please consider leaving a review. Reviews help independent authors reach new readers and are greatly appreciated.
