My novels are published under the imprint Agave Americana Books. Why that? The Agave Americana is commonly known as the Century plant. It is so called because myth offers that it bloom only once a century. Before then, it is about the thoughest thing growing on hillsides of the Mojave Desert around Southern California. Agave Americana is impervious to fire, drought, monsson flooding and predation by almost all animals and bugs. But before it dies the Agave Americana throws a stalk some thirty feet into the air, the tip of which explodes into a most beautiful bouquet of bright yellow flowers. Having spent my youth in the U.S.M.C. and my adulthood in the shark-tank that is commerical real estate, I relate to the Agave Americana . And like it, I hope to create something tall and beautiful before the end. Before I die, I will have created a stalk of stories reaching a metaphoric thirty feet into the air. Whether the bouquet at the top is beautiful will not be for me to say. That will be for you, my readers, to decide.
