Before diving into fiction full-time, Salem worked as a 911 dispatcher, a job that taught her exactly how fast things can go from calm to chaos. She now lives in the high desert of Oregon with her husband and two dogs, where the skies are wide, the coffee is strong, and the ideas never stop.
