S.Z. Estavillo is a biracial feminist thriller author whose Serpent Series has earned over 24,000 downloads, reached #1 across the Kindle store and multiple Thriller categories, and became Book Raid’s #1 bestseller in Thriller. Her novels blend the grit of detective police procedurals with the high-stakes tension of vigilante justice, morally gray characters, and relentless suspense, all told in a cinematic style influenced by her award-winning film background. Half-Korean and half-Puerto Rican, Estavillo’s heritage deeply shapes her writing, weaving themes of identity, survival, and power into stories with strong female leads. A lifelong true crime aficionado with a family legacy in law enforcement, she explores the razor’s edge between justice and vengeance in every book. Estavillo’s professional background spans literary agencies and TV studios, where she sharpened her editorial acumen and market instincts. She has secured book deals, greenlit screenplays that became Lifetime movies, and collaborated with publishing experts such as Brian Klems through the Writing Day Workshop. She also completed UCLA’s Editorial Acquisitions course, honing her skills in manuscript development. An award-winning filmmaker, she holds a B.A. in Film Production and a Master’s in Television, Radio & Film from Syracuse University’s SI Newhouse School of Public Communications, one of the nation’s top broadcasting schools. Her honors include the David Twohy Scholarship for Screenwriting, the Carl Foreman Filmmaking Award, and Best Short Film at the Latina Film Festival. Beyond fiction, Estavillo is a seasoned digital marketer, social media strategist, and PR professional with a thriving platform of over 100,000 followers. She has taught “Leveraging Social Media to Build Your Author Brand” at the L.A. Writer’s Conference and the North Texas Romance Writers (NTRW). Her publishing achievements include three widely-read blogs with over 3 million views and numerous articles as a news producer, where she interviewed figures such as Martin Luther King III, Holocaust survivor Esther Bauer, and Reality TV star Matt Roloff (Little People, Big World). Her debut novel, The Serpent’s Bridge, launched the Serpent Series, followed by The Serpent Woman and Twilight of the Serpent. With her editorial expertise, film sensibility, and marketing prowess, S.Z. Estavillo continues to carve a bold, distinct path in the literary world.
