Ryan J. Russell was born with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and told he might not live past 18. Instead, he earned a Ph.D. in psychology, became a motivational speaker, and fulfilled his lifelong dream of writing.
His debut novel, Rectify: The Avenging Angel, launched a historical fantasy series blending action, faith, and resilience. After losing both parents in 2021, marrying Angela, and moving from Arizona to Missouri in 2024, Ryan took a pause in writing—but he’s back, with more Rectify adventures on the way.
Through his books, coaching, and podcast Life on Positivity, Ryan inspires others to overcome obstacles and chase their dreams. If he can do it from a wheelchair, he believes anyone can.
