Ryan J. Russell is the author of Rectify: The Avenging Angel, the first novel in the Rectify series. His fiction blends historical fantasy, supernatural action, psychology, and questions of justice, hope, purpose, and what heroism really requires.

Ryan holds a PhD in General Psychology and has Duchenne muscular dystrophy, experiences that shape how he thinks about human behavior, resilience, agency, and dependence without defining the limits of his stories.

He is currently revising and expanding The Avenging Angel while continuing work on Book Two, Rectify: The Ancient Centurion. Ryan lives in the Kansas City area with his family and enjoys history, gaming, road travel, and imagining where the Rectify story goes next.
