Originally from Arkansas, screenwriter, singer, and actor Roxanne Beck Raye took a career detour on the way to Los Angeles, making stops in Nashville and New York while accumulating a lengthy list of music, TV, and film credits. But eventually her love of storytelling led her to Hollywood, where an Oscar-winning producer optioned her first script. Credits include MISS FAMOUS starring Kristen Wiig and Jimmy Kimmel (included in the anthology THE HEYDAY OF THE INSENSITIVE BASTARDS, available on Prime) as well as polishes and rewrites for studios and production companies. Roxanne's TV drama pilot THE QUEEN OF MAGIC received a "9" rating from The Black List; the script also ranks in the Top 1% of Coverfly's TV Dramas, 2024. She is a graduate of UCLA's MFA in Screenwriting program (Humanitas Drama Fellowship nomination, Oliver's Prize) and the Women in Film Mentoring Program. Roxanne's writing tends to focus on spunky women who refuse to be silenced, and underdogs who never give up. She lives in Sherman Oaks, CA, with her wonderful rescue dogs Dolly and Lucky.
