Rodney L. Smith is a native Texan retired from 33 years serving in and working for US Army Military Intelligence in Texas, Germany, and Washington DC. He currently resides in the Texas Hill country with his wife, cat, deer herd, barn swallow colony, hummingbird flock, an occasional roadrunner, a kettle of vultures or two, and geckos, lots of geckos. When not sitting on his philosopher's bench in the swimming pool thinking up a new plot line, he dabbles in RVing and other outdoor pastimes. In the Spring and Summer 2018, he, wife, cat, and friends completed a three month RV trip to Alaska and back. Rodney writes science fiction and historical fiction. He published his first work, Scout Force (Kelly Blake Series Book One) as an ebook in August 2011 and as an audiobook in December 2015. Follow-on Kelly Blake Series books: First Command, was published in December 2011; Where The Stars Are Few And Far Between was published in May 2012; All Enemies Foreign and Domestic was published in May 2013. His latest book, Like Seed Cast on Fertile Ground, (Galactic Republic Series, Book One) was published in December 2017 (First book available in ebook and hardcopy). Rodney is the current vice chairman of the Canyon Lake Area Writers (CLAW). Rodney and wife are members of The North Texas Troublemakers and its affiliate, The Hill Country Rough Writers. As of August 2018, Rodney is working on the fifth and final book in the Kelly Blake series. Tying all the loose ends of four previous books is a slog, so it will be a while.
