Robin D.M. Potter is a UK Armed Forces veteran with service in both regular and reserve units, bringing grounded, tactical realism to every story he tells. Drawing on years of military experience, his speculative fiction is shaped by hard decisions, brutal landscapes, and the high cost of survival. Outside of writing, Robin works in finance and risk analysis, disciplines that sharpen his eye for structure and detail. His storylines explore the consequences of war and the unseen edges of conflict, weaving complexity into every narrative. He’s also an accomplished photographer, often drawn to the same themes behind the lens: isolation, resilience, and the tension between ruin and beauty. Now focused on gritty speculative fiction, Robin builds complex, character-driven worlds where loyalty is tested, alliances fracture, and not everyone makes it home. His debut series, Operation Dreadnaught, pulls no punches, combining military authenticity with deeply human stories set against the backdrop of all-out war. He lives in Scotland with his wife, and spends his time writing, reading, and raising his two children.
