Roberto Martínez Guzmán was born in Ourense, Spain, where he currently lives. He is the author of crime fiction and thrillers, with stories focused on criminal investigations, morally complex characters, and dark, grounded atmospheres. He made his fiction debut in 2012 with A bloody Holy Week (Eva Santiago 1), a police procedural thriller that reached top positions on Amazon bestseller lists in several countries. It was followed by Café y cigarrillos para un funeral (Eva Santiago 2) and Cinderella must die (2016), consolidating his work within contemporary crime and noir fiction. In 2019, he published La suerte de los idiotas, which became the most downloaded novel in the history of Amazon Spain in just over a year. His next release, La envidia de los mediocres (2021), continued to strengthen his position within the genre. In 2024, he released El ego de los tontos, a crime thriller that further develops his approach to police investigation and modern noir storytelling.
