Robert Johnstone was born on a Scottish hill farm in the late 1950s and later moved with his family to a farm near Stowmarket in Suffolk, England, where he farmed the land alongside his father. After farming for several years, he opened a lucrative paintball games site in 1989, which he ran successfully until 1997. Around 1990, while still running the paintball site, he first came across the Hay Diet, and it completely changed his life. Later, he went on to work for Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum of the Dubai royal family, managing the Sheikh’s 6,000-acre estate near Thetford in South Norfolk. He worked there for over 20 years, and throughout that entire time, he didn’t take a single sick day. Robert has now been following the Hay Diet for 35 years and has never had a bad day on it. He firmly believes that Hay Diet is the reason he has stayed fit, healthy, and mentally sharp for so long. He has kept a stable weight of 161 lbs and keeps active by going on brisk walks through the forest near his home. He’s genuinely content, always smiling, and full of life. This is his first book, written to share what has worked for him, and possibly help others looking for a simpler, healthier way to eat and live.
