Richard Gilman-Opalsky is Associate Professor of Political Philosophy in the Department of Political Science at the University of Illinois. Gilman-Opalsky’s research and teaching specializes in the history of political philosophy, Continental and contemporary social theory, Marxism, capitalism, autonomist politics, critical theory, and global social movements. Gilman-Opalsky is author of Unbounded Publics (2008), Spectacular Capitalism (2011), Precarious Communism (2014), and Specters of Revolt (2016). He is co-editor of Against Capital in the Twenty-First Century (2018), published by Temple University Press. His books have been translated into Greek and Spanish.
