Richard Dansky is a writer and designer of fiction, video games, and tabletop RPGs. Regarded as a leading expert in the fields of video game writing and narrative, he is the author of The Video Game Writer's Guide to Surviving an Industry That Hates You. Richard also serves on the advisory board of the Game Narrative Summit at GDC, and is a frequent speaker on subjects of game writing and narrative. He has published 8 novels and 2 short story collections, with more on the way. His first original novel, Firefly Rain, received a starred review from Publishers Weekly and was named a Booksense Pick, while both Vaporware and Ghost of a Marriage were finalists for the Manly Wade Wellman Award. You can also find his short fiction in places like PseudoPod, Cosmic Horror Monthly, Black Cat Weekly, and many more. Prior to working in video games, Richard was a major contributor to White Wolf's legendary TTRPG setting The World of Darkness. He has also worked on games such as Exalted, Trinity, and others. Briefly, he was the world's leading expert on Denebian Slime Devils.
