Rhys Shaw has lived in America and Europe and has always been interested in history, cemeteries, and stories of deceit and survival. Women have often been overlooked in history and this is the inspiration behind her books. Whether based on real people, places, or events, or entirely fictitious, her women are strong and resilient. She is the author of The Welexia Series - four books about strong women in 14th Century Europe, who persevere to overcome the obstacles life serves them. And, Kirkyard Moon, where Scotland’s heartbreaking history of prosecuting and sentencing innocent people to death under the guise of witchcraft, along with modern day witch trials, inspired her to write this novel. All of her books expose parallels to what has happened, could happen, or is indeed happening in our world today.
