R. F. Blackwood Publications™ — Official Narrator Terms & Conditions (Professional Edition)
Effective for all ACX, Audible, and affiliated audiobook productions
1. Scope of Agreement
These Terms & Conditions apply to all narrators, producers, and audio contractors working with R. F. Blackwood Publications™ across ACX and any future platforms. By auditioning, submitting samples, or accepting a contract, you agree to all terms outlined below.
2. Manuscript Interpretation & Professional Initiative
Narrators must demonstrate the ability to:
• interpret manuscripts accurately
• identify non narrative elements
• ignore internal notes, bracketed tone markers, and formatting artefacts
• follow author guidance without repeated clarification
• apply professional judgement independently
Tone notes, emotional cues, and bracketed guidance are for narrator reference only and must not be narrated.
3. Required Professional Conduct
Narrators must:
• communicate clearly and concisely
• avoid emotional hesitation or over analysis
• maintain steady progress without unnecessary delays
• respect deadlines and checkpoint expectations
• work independently without requiring constant reassurance
• uphold confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Failure to meet these standards may result in immediate contract termination.
4. Production Workflow & Deadlines
Narrators agree to:
• begin production promptly upon contract acceptance
• deliver the 15 minute checkpoint within the agreed timeframe
• maintain consistent progress throughout production
• notify the author immediately of any delays
• avoid prolonged pauses or unexplained inactivity
R. F. Blackwood Publications™ operates a structured production system. Narrators must align with this workflow.
5. Manuscript Versions & Technical Requirements
Narrators must:
• use the manuscript provided through ACX
• not request alternative formats unless a genuine technical issue exists
• ensure audio meets ACX technical standards (noise floor, RMS, peak levels, etc.)
• ensure chapter headings, pacing, and tone match the author’s direction
Copyright pages and tables of contents are not narrated unless explicitly instructed.
6. Communication Standards
Narrators must:
• keep messages professional and concise
• avoid emotional or personal commentary
• ask only essential questions
• respect boundaries and avoid off platform communication
• maintain a collaborative but professional tone
R. F. Blackwood Publications™ does not tolerate harassment, pressure, or emotional manipulation.
7. Contract Withdrawal Procedure (Mandatory)
If a narrator chooses to withdraw, they must:
1. Submit a formal cancellation request through ACX.
2. Select the correct reason: “Narrator Request – Not Proceeding.”
3. Cease all uploads immediately.
4. Confirm submission so the author can approve the release.
Incorrect cancellation reasons may freeze the project and delay publication. This will be reported to ACX.
8. Author Identity & Branding
Narrators must use:
• Paul for communication
• Raven F. Blackwood for credits and branding
• Pronouns: he/him
All branding must match R. F. Blackwood Publications™ standards.
9. Rejection of Auditions
R. F. Blackwood Publications™ reserves the right to:
• decline auditions without explanation
• reject narrators who do not meet professional standards
• remove narrators who breach these Terms & Conditions
• reopen auditions immediately after a cancellation
Auditions are evaluated on tone, professionalism, initiative, and alignment with the brand.
10. Confidentiality & Intellectual Property
Narrators agree that:
• all manuscripts, notes, and communications are confidential
• no content may be shared, discussed, or distributed
• all audio produced remains the intellectual property of R. F. Blackwood Publications™ until publication
• breach of confidentiality may result in legal action
11. Payment & Rights
All payments follow ACX contractual terms. Narrators must not request alternative payment methods or off platform arrangements.
12. Termination of Agreement
R. F. Blackwood Publications™ may terminate a contract if:
• deadlines are repeatedly missed
• communication becomes unprofessional
• narrator fails to follow instructions
• narrator demonstrates inability to interpret the manuscript
• narrator breaches confidentiality
• narrator attempts off platform negotiation
Termination may occur without further discussion.
13. Acceptance of Terms
By auditioning, submitting samples, or accepting a contract, the narrator confirms:
• they have read these Terms & Conditions
• they understand the expectations
• they agree to comply fully
• they acknowledge that failure to comply may result in removal from the project


📱 Tier 1 — eBook Edition (Grade 1)
A clean, minimal digital edition containing chapter number and title only.
This version also serves as the official script for narrators, ensuring faithful, consistent audiobook production.

📘 Tier 2 — Paperback Edition (Grade 2)
The standard professional edition, featuring full front and back matter, structured parts and sections, and enhanced interior design.

📕 Tier 3 — Hardback Edition (Grade 3)
The premium collector’s edition, offering the highest level of presentation, durability, and optional exclusive content.

🎧 Audio Editions
All titles include professionally produced audiobooks created directly from the Grade 1 script, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and a faithful performance of the author’s intended voice.
