I am a business consultant, entrepreneur, business scholar, and lifelong student of philosophy. Over the past decade, I have helped global companies create and implement a compelling strategy around sustainable business, innovation, and technology. My monthly briefings on sustainable business trends are read by hundreds of executives at more than eighty Global 500 corporations. I try and combine my consulting and implementation work with thought leadership and business research. I was the lead author of an influential Harvard Business Review article "Why Sustainability Is Now the Key Driver of Innovation," which accelerated the field of sustainable innovation. It was recently ranked among the 50 most cited management publications from over 15,000 articles published in 300+ management journals. I've also written for Stanford Social Innovation Review and other publications. I speak frequently to business audiences on the future of business leadership, strategy, and innovation. I was also previously a high-tech entrepreneur in Silicon Valley and on the business school faculty at leading business schools. I'm currently also an affiliated scholar at the Kozmetsky Global Collaboratory, Stanford University. I received my doctorate in management at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. This book synthesizes three fields I have thought deeply about or practiced over the past thirty years: sustainable business, entrepreneurship, and the wisdom traditions.
