Der Autor wurde im Januar 1960 im Ruhrgebiet geboren. Nach Abschluss der Fachhochschule begann er seine Karriere im Öffentlichen Dienst. Neben seiner Tätigkeit (zuletzt als Dezernent der Hauptverwaltung) lehrte er an Hochschulen, Fachhochschulen und am Niederrheinischen Studieninstitut u.a. Polizeirecht und Volkswirtschaftslehre. Nach Beendigung dieses Lebensabschnittes absolvierte er zwei weitere Fortbildungen als Fachberater und Fachwirt für Finanzdienstleistungen und agierte als Unternehmensberater für Anlageberater. In geringerem Umfang war er auch selbst als Anlageberater bis 2011 aktiv. Auch während dieser Zeit vermittelte er sein Wissen als Dozent für Betriebswirtschaftslehre und Volkswirtschaft an einer Wirtschaftsakademie. In den letzten Jahren vor seinem endgültigen Ruhestand im Jahre 2016 war er im Bereich des Online-Marketings tätig. Sein Hobby Fotografie begann er bereits als Schüler und nutzte seine Börsengewinne um sich eine professionelle Fotoausrüstung zu leisten. Er absolvierte auch die Waffensachkundeprüfung und war im Deutschen Schützenbund aktiv. Ralf Passing ist verheiratet, hat eine Tochter und lebt überwiegend in Panama und Kanada. The author was born in the Ruhrgebiet area of Germany in 1960. After completing his Fachhochschule (equivalent to a specilized University degree) he began his career as a civil servant. In addition to his job (lastly as a Dezernent der Hauptverwaltung) he also taught at colleges, and University faculties, including topics ranging from legal studies to economics. When he moved on to the next stage of his career, Passing completed two additional diplomas in finance and furthered his career as a business consultant for investment consultants. In a lesser capacity he also worked directly as an investment consultant until 2011. During this time he simultaneously continued to teach (national, applied, and business) economics as a contract instructor at a German economics institute. In the years prior to his retirement in 2016, he became active in online marketing. He had picked up his hobby, photography, as a young student and used his successful investemnts in the stock market to buy professional equipment. He also trained and qualified for the use of weapons in Germany (Waffensachkundeprüfung) and was activ in the German Shooting Federation (DSB). Ralf Passing is married, has one daughter, and lives primarily in Panama and Canada.
