Rachel Sweasey is a historical fiction novelist whose stories are set in Poole, Dorset, where she grew up. Beautiful Poole is a wonderful backdrop with its depth of character and rich history. Rachel is inspired by the writing of Kate Morton, and has published three historical fiction novels in dual timelines, set in World War Two. These are THE LAST BOAT HOME, THE ISLAND GIRLS, and THE GIRL FROM NORMANDY. THE LAST BOAT HOME is due to be published in Serbian and Spanish editions in late 2026. Her new Saga Series, THE LIFEBOAT GIRLS, is also set in Poole but set during the First World War period. Book One in this series released in May 2026 and includes connections with the Titanic as well as the onset of The Great War, following the lives, loves, and losses of four young local girls. Book Two in this saga series – THE LIFEBOAT GIRLS AT WAR - is due out in January 2027.
