Pierre-Etienne Hourlier is an author and serves in the French National Police. Alongside his professional duties, he taught for thirteen years in the preparatory program for senior civil service examinations at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University. His work as an author is rooted in a strong commitment to pedagogical transmission, with the aim of making demanding professional pathways and competitive examinations more accessible. His books adopt a structured, methodical and practical approach, focusing on each examination individually and helping candidates understand expectations before fully committing to these careers. He is notably the author of several books dedicated to competitive examinations in the fields of law enforcement, public security and emergency services, including works on the French police, gendarmerie and professional fire service. In parallel with these publications, Pierre-Etienne Hourlier also writes books related to sport, particularly golf, which he approaches as a discipline combining strategy, self-control and personal development. He has published several educational works on golf, including Le Golf en 50 questions, Golf, l’essentiel en 58 questions and Golf, l’essentiel en 100 questions. He continues this reflection with Why We Love Golf, a book devoted to the history and landmark moments of the sport.
