I decided to take a break from a career recovering the cash from failed banks to take on something completely out of my wheelhouse - write a novel! I plumbed my experiences in the seedier realms of international finance, and used them, along with my experiences and passion for diving, climbing, and caving, to write my debut novel, an action/adventure thriller titled Varuna. I loved the experience, and decided to keep writing! I'm now working on my second novel. I live in Portland Oregon with my lovely partner, Cathy. We love to hike, canoe, sea kayak, bicycle, and ride our motorcycle across the gorgeous Oregon countryside. "Coerced to become a smuggler, sea captain Malik Bashir is determined his next mission will be his last. An expedition aboard his boat, Varuna, goes awry when a diver is seriously injured. Malik is forced to choose between risking his own life or following orders when its discovered something even more terrifying than a ruthless drug lord is hunting them." Varuna was selected as a finalist in the Pacific Northwest Writers Association best novel award in the Thriller category. It is published by The Wild Rose Press.
