Philipp Bagus is Professor of Economics at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid and an internationally recognized expert in monetary theory and business cycle analysis. His research has been featured in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Business Ethics, the Independent Review, and the American Journal of Economics and Sociology, among others. He is the recipient of several distinguished awards, including the O.P. Alford III Prize in Libertarian Scholarship, the Ron Paul Liberty in Media Award, the Sir John M. Templeton Fellowship, the IREF Essay Prize, and the Ludwig Erhard Prize for Economic Journalism (2016). Professor Bagus is the author of the highly acclaimed "The Tragedy of the Euro", published in 14 languages, and "In Defense of deflation." He is co-author of "Blind Robbery", "Small States - Big Opportunities" and "Deep Freeze: Iceland’s Economic Collapse". His work offers sharp, original insights into the causes and consequences of economic crises and the flaws of fiat money systems. He serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Ludwig von Mises Institute Germany, is a Senior Fellow at the Mises Institute (USA), and is affiliated with the Liberal Institute (Switzerland) and the Instituto de Estudios Históricos Bances y Valdés. He is also a member of the Mont Pelerin Society, the Hayek Society, and the Property and Freedom Society. His most recent work, "The Milei Era" was published in September 2024, offering a compelling analysis of the economic revolution unfolding in Argentina. It will be published in 9 languages.
