My biography titled “ Count On Me” has been a two and a half year collaborative endeavour with Lucy Lynskey and me. My motivations for composing this biography are primarily rooted in legacy. In a century, when my future descendants inquire of their parents, “What did grandpa Peter accomplish during his life?” I hope there will be a reference point or glimpse into my existence as recounted in “Count On Me”. I aspire for the values of the era, as reflected in my professional and personal experiences, to illustrate how we navigate diverse situations, spanning from my time in an English boarding school to my experiences at the Benedictine seminary and my service in the military. How did I transition from those formative experiences to a prosperous career in business? What influences shaped my life? Which values guided my choices? Who were the remarkable individuals who directed my actions? What were my spiritual beliefs, and so forth? I aspire for the experiences I’ve encountered and the ways in which I have navigated and addressed them to offer valuable lessons for future generations. I was fortunate to have remarkable mentors and to have discovered the profound impact of faith and self-belief, as well as the importance of visualizing outcomes before making choices. These principles have guided me, and in doing so, I hope they will also benefit my descendants.
