Paul Copan (Ph.D., philosophy, Marquette University) is Professor & Pledger Family Chair of Philosophy and Ethics at Palm Beach Atlantic University. He helped establish the M.A. Philosophy of Religion program at PBA where he works with noted philosopher Paul Gould (author of *Cultural Apologetics*). Paul has written or edited around 45 books, and he has contributed chapters to over 60 books as well. He is best known for his books on Old Testament ethical challenges: “Is God a Moral Monster?” and “Is God a Vindictive Bully?” and “Did God Really Command Genocide?” See also his coedited “Christianity Contested: Replies to Critics' Toughest Objections,” which has lengthy chapters on alleged “genocide” and “slavery” in the Bible. His books "True for You, But Not for Me,” “When God Goes to Starbucks” and "How Do You Know You're Not Wrong?" and others offer accessible answers questions raised by Christianity’s critics. He has co-authored and coedited various books with the noted Christian philosopher William Lane Craig as well as philosophy of religion volumes, including the philosophy of religion, The Rationality of Theism (Routledge), The Routledge Companion to Philosophy of Religion (Routledge), and Philosophy of Religion: Classic and Contemporary Issues (Blackwell). For six years, he was president of the Evangelical Philosophical Society, and he was a visiting scholar at Oxford University in 2017 (Wycliffe Hall) and again in 2024 (Oriel College). He is chair of the Philosophy of Religion Group for Tyndale Fellowship (UK).
