Patrick Babin was born into a French speaking household in Southern Louisiana. At the age of three, he was stripped from his mother and abandoned by his father. He and his two sisters languished in foster care for several years before being rescued by their mother. They returned to a modest home ruled by their stern but loving grandmother. He grew up submersed in the Cajun culture, with its delicious spicy foods, colorful traditions and superstitions. That upbringing, which was not always pleasant, helped to form the imagination of a gifted writer. Through words he has learned to vividly express the dreams and fantasies that live within his imagination. His empathy for others and a deep understanding of the human struggle is evident in the pages he writes. He feels that his talent for writing is a gift to be should be shared with others.
