Patricia Reis is passionately interested in how creativity, depth psychology, and the natural world inform a woman’s spiritual life. Her new gold medal winning memoir, Motherlines, weaves these threads on the warp of a midlife passage. Reis has published five books and numerous essays. She holds a BA in English Literature from the University of Wisconsin, an MFA in Art and Design from UCLA and a degree in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara. Raised in Madison, Wisconsin,Reis moved to California in 1968. In 1986, she moved to Maine where she lives with her partner, James Harrod and their cat.
