Francesco "Paco" Chierici spent two decades flying for the U.S. Navy. On active duty he flew A-6E Intruders and F-14A Tomcats from the USS Ranger, Lincoln, Nimitz and Kitty Hawk, with deployments from Somalia to Iraq. He then spent ten years as an adversary pilot, flying the F-5 Tiger II against Navy fighter crews while working as a commercial pilot. He logged 3,000 tactical hours and nearly 400 carrier landings, and earned a Southwest Asia Service Medal with Bronze Star and three Strike/Flight Air Medals.

Today he's an A350 captain, and he still gets his dogfighting fix in a Yak-50 over California.

He created and produced Speed & Angels, the award-winning documentary that followed two young Navy pilots through F-14 training. His writing has appeared in Fighter Sweep, Fight's On and Writer's Digest.

Lions of the Sky is his first novel. Book 2, Like Fire From Heaven, is coming in 2027. He lives in Northern California with his wife, Hillary, and their two children.
