PW Brown dedicated more than half his life supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States as a naval officer and government civil servant. He retired from the U. S. Navy at the rank of Captain. While in the Navy, he served onboard ships and a submarine, and was deployed across the globe in support of many foreign campaigns throughout his 27 years of military service. At the beginning of the 21st century, while assigned to the Navy Headquarters Staff in Washington, D. C., he worked as a military analyst projecting future capabilities that the Navy would need in order to meet the demands and challenges of potential conflicts 30 years and beyond. In The Power of Fear, he leverages that skillset to paint a picture of a world in 2050 shaped by decisions and views from a far-right conservative politician who wins the 2024  Presidential Election. In 2024, he resigned from his position on the Secretary of the Navy's staff to complete the fictional novel, inspired by the landmark decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, which imagines a world shaped by the potential long-term impacts of current political decisions on future generations.
