I am a product of good Midwestern values, you know the 4th of July, Baseball, Boy Scout food drive values that stay with you. I survived three decades of saving lives before turning to writing stories about the people who shaped my life, for good and bad. A firefighter and paramedic before transitioning to nursing,I spent many years in a Level 1 Trauma Center, where I learned that the real heroism happens between the chaos - in the quiet moments when strangers become family, and ordinary people rise to meet impossible situations. My football series - Championship Season, Lightning Strikes Twice, and 4th and long draws from my own experiences on the sidelines as a player as well as a Head Coach for a Jr. High Football team; exploring the bonds forged through competition, crisis, and community.
