Omar Imady is an uncommon collection of many things – Syrian, American, British, exile, scholar, javaphile, and aerophobe – all of which find expression across his rich repertoire of academic scholarship and eclectic fiction.

As a scholar, he has authored and co-authored several authoritative works on the Middle East, including the Historical Dictionary of Syria and An Inside Story of Modern Syria. In the domain of spirituality, he has most recently published a groundbreaking theological series, Divine Pronouns: Unlocking the Definitive Quran, and a work on prophetic traditions, What He Actually Said: The Qul Corpus and the Definitive Voice of the Prophet.

His deep grounding in Islamic humanism and Syrian history runs as a thread through his award-winning fiction.
