Norvel McDonald graduated from Uniondale High School in Uniondale, New York. Subsequently, he attended Northeastern University in Boston, earning a BSBA degree, and the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA, where he received an MBA degree.

He spent most of his working career working primarily for two F-100 telecommunications companies in marketing and sales, many of which were in leadership positions.

Norvel is the proud father of beautiful daughters and a grandson, to which he dedicates this book. In addition, the idea of writing Sitting on a Rainbow originated from songs he made up and sang along with his daughters when they were young.

Writing has been a passion of Norvel for over twenty-five years. He has authored several books:

“Thought Winds,” a poetry collection of dedications and insights.

“Sitting on a Rainbow,” a child’s fantasy adventure to a medieval castle where music and imagination teach life lessons.

“The Goodlife Boys,” the story of four former group home brothers who reunite decades later to help a fifth confront a gang crisis.

“Have I Told You…,” a love story chronicling years of relationships that culminate in the rekindling of an earlier connection.

“Crooners,” a story about a wealthy hedge fund CEO who sponsors a nationwide amateur singing contest in honor of his late sister.

“Children of the Park; Hallowed Ground,” an autobiographical fiction about a boy and his friends growing up throughout the 50’s and 60’s in public housing in lower Manhattan.
