Nina B. Lichtenstein is a native of Oslo, Norway, but has lived in the US for the past 40 years. She has taught languages, literatures, writing, and Jewish Studies in the US, Norway and Israel, and holds a PHD in French Literature from the University of Connecticut. While her scholarly work deals with the culture and literature of Jews from Arab lands, Nina's personal essays and reported pieces have been published in The Washington Post, The Huff Post, Lilith Magazine, and Tablet Magazine, among other places. She is also the founder and director or Maine Writers Studio, and the co-founder and co-editor of In a Flash Literary Magazine on Substack. She publishes semi-regularly on her own Substack, "The Viking Jewess and Other Curiosities." Needless to say, Nina enjoys storytelling in all shapes and forms, live and in writing.
