A veteran of many years in the British Army working with the Army’s helicopters. He then joined the Civil Service before taking early retirement and moving to a villa in Spain. He writes his books when he can tear himself away from the view across the orange groves to the Mediterranean. Married with two children. He is slowly learning Spanish. Having started out writing a series of military based thrillers, he has now moved over to mostly writing historical fiction, with a couple of thrillers thrown in for variety He has completed two historical fiction trilogies. The first follows the progress of Michael McGuire from the slums of Dublin, through the heat and dust of the Sudan to the blood and carnage of the First World War where he commands a battalion of tough Australian troops. The second follows a pair of brothers who flee England to avoid the hangman's noose and join the East India Company army. They fight their way through some of the bloodiest wars of the Victorian age.
