Nick Polizzi comes from a family that believes heavily in folk remedies. Having for a lifetime witnessed the profound healing power of plants, Nick now seeks to shine a light on natural alternatives to conventional medicine. As an intrepid documentary filmmaker, Nick has focused his career on putting promising natural medicines to the ultimate test on daring patients, suffering from real illnesses. 15 years ago, a close friend of his was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease – a veritable death sentence in modern America – and Nick made it his personal mission to find other natural treatment options. This mission compelled his team to embark on a life-changing, sacred medicine quest into the heart of the Amazon jungle. Here, Nick received his initiations. He began participating in sacred ceremonies, and working alongside shamans specializing in everything from ancient Amazonian healing strategies to Jungian dreamwork. His experiences planted the seeds for his documentary The Sacred Science, and have propelled him on his present path as a both a filmmaker, author and advocate for ancient medicine. The films and documentary series that Nick has created include "The Sacred Science," "Healing Kitchen: Let Food Be Thy Medicine," "Remedy: Ancient Medicine for Modern Illness," "Proven: Healing Breakthroughs Backed By Science," and his forthcoming documentary "Trees." His new book "The Sacred Cookbook: Forgotten Healing Recipes Of The Ancients" stems from a calling to honor, preserve, and protect the ancient knowledge and healing rituals of the ancestors.
