Nicholas Ballard is a fiction writer out of Las Vegas, Nevada who has been writing action/adventure and thriller stories from age seven. New to publishing his works of fiction as of 2014, Nick was raised in Upstate New York before relocating to the desert Southwest. His favorite pastime is, not surprisingly, writing. Going out among the humans is okay once in a while, too. His first published series, the Silas Oaktree Series, is a twist on the prototypical hard-boiled crime novel. The detective is a robin (yes, the bird). Inspiration came to redo the old bestiary stories like Aesop's Fables and Renert the Fox, updated for modern reading, all the stodgy morals conveniently forgotten.
