Neil Benson is the author of You Can't Libel the Dead: A Life in Journalism. Born in Yorkshire, Neil worked for newspapers across the North and Midlands. He edited the Coventry Telegraph and the Newcastle Chronicle and was the self-appointed curry correspondent of the Telegraph & Argus, in Bradford. He is a former president of the Society of Editors and chaired the Editors' Code of Practice committee, which sets the professional standards for journalists in the UK. He is a course advisor and mentor on the University of Lancashire's Journalism, Innovation & Leadership programme.
