Nakel Ethan Nikiema has built three companies across two continents. He began his career in civil society, spending four unpaid years as a psychosocial advisor while lecturing at night to make ends meet. He later held roles in program management, country representation for international organizations, and served as Coordinator for the United Nations Millennium Campaign in his country. Against near-unanimous advice, he left a high-paying career to formalize a consulting practice in Burkina Faso in 2013. A tertiary institution authorized by the Ministry of Education followed. Both organizations were later replicated in the United States, where he now lives and works. Nakel is the author of multiple books, including Build Your Own Door, 90 Minutes to a US Company, and The Weight of Choosing. He continues to write about leadership, decision-making, and building institutions in places that do not make it easy. He currently holds a regional role at Waali International.
