Morgan has been writing video games for almost twenty years, working on such franchises as Halo, Guild Wars 2, and Everquest, as well as critically lauded single title games like Tell Me Why. Her debut novel, A Spell for Midwinter's Heart, first in the Elk Ridge series, released fall 2025 with the second in the series, A Curse for Christmas Past, out 2026.

Having spent almost twenty years filling digital worlds with stories, she has had the fortune of being involved in many blockbuster and critically acclaimed video games. Her work has been recognized with wins and nominations from GLAAD, BAFTA, WGA, the Game Awards, and more.

She writes speculative fiction that explores the messy business of being human. Working across fantasy, magical realism, romance, science fiction, and horror (and often the spaces between), her stories center complicated characters confronting the social, psychological, and generally supernatural forces shaping their lives. With wit, imagination, and an interest in the strange and unsettling, she explores identity, belonging, power, and the ways our world can become extraordinary. Her work often centers on characters as neurodiverse as she is.

She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her partner, children, and pack of fur babies.
